RULE BREAKER
I'm not one to play by the rules, but I've always found it fascinating how some people insist on sticking to certain fashion trends and so-called "rules". There are many, but the specific one I'm referring to is 'only wearing white after memorial day and until labor day', that is the end of May until the beginning on September. So that covers basically 3 months of wearing white. I don't know about you, but that doesn't seem like a lot. What happens to the other 9 months of the year? Have those people ever heard of the concept "winter-white"? Well, as someone who likes to break the rules, and anyways now lives in a country where neither memorial day or labor day is celebrated according to the American calendar, I think I can just nix the whole white tradition, and wear it as I please. The ensemble you see is, granted, very limited in the amount of white it contains, as I tend to wear darker clothing colors when it is cooler outside. I did, however, put on a pair of white heels which I happen to love. A knock-off, and much smaller heal of the famous Stuart Weitzman version of this now classic shoe. I thought it would give my outfit a little pop, one that would have otherwise been paired with a dark colored converse and then be seen as the stereotypical European young-girl outfit. I don't always fit into that category, and I tend to love a little girly accessory or shoe with my outfits, so I included that here, with my earth-toned pants and shirt and bright white heels on a non-summery day. #dianasays
